In 1973 Contino was born, the first “chateau” of Rioja. Its wines are obtained only from the vineyard planted in its 62 hectares. The Contino vineyard is built around an old manor house, in a meander of the Ebro, in Laserna, a district of the municipality of Laguardia. Rioja Alavesa.

1 bottle of Contino Viña del Olivo 2016:

Manual selection of the best bunches from the Olivo plot (a specimen close to 700 years old). One of the few calcareous clay farms in Contino, with a very high content of active limestone, a slope of 5 to 7% with southern exposure, dry land and without the use of herbicides and organic fertilization. Planted in 1980.

1 bottle of Contino Graciano 2017:

Complex nose with violet touches, combined floral aromas, wild blackberries and an elegant mineral finish.

On the palate it is a long and meaty wine, which stands out for the silkiness of its tannins.

Contino Graciano is an elegant and balanced wine, the result of a magnificent maturation of the variety in our San Rafael Estate and excellent aging work.

1 bottle of Contino Garnacha 2018:

The grapes for Contino Garnacha come from the old Fincas de Pajera, calcareous from 1980; Central, alluvial and sandy, from 1950; and Lentisco, stony from 1940.

1 bottle of Contino Blanco 2018:

The white Garnacha comes from the San Gregorio Encina estate planted in 1980 with calcareous clay soils. The Viura comes from different areas of Contino, from the alluvial and ancient payment of Lentisco, from the stony San Gregorio, La Tabla and from the Santa María estate. All aged between 35 and 40 years.
