Roda I Reserva

Bodegas Roda is located on the banks of the Ebro River, on a balcony in the Barrio de La Estación de Haro (La Rioja), on a 19th century openwork. Winegrowers used it to store their crops, which were later sent to Bordeaux by rail to mitigate the damage caused by phylloxera. There, Agustín de Santolaya has been carrying out his activity as director for years, responsible for the wines that came to stay at the beginning of the new century.

Roda I is assembled by the payments that that year have matured with the sensation of black fruit. Made with grapes from vineyards over 30 years old. Aging in French oak barrels. 50% new and 50% a wine. 16 months in barrel and 20 months in bottle.

Data sheet

Grape: 98% Tempranillo, 2% Graciano.

Alcoholic degree: 14.5% Vol.

Serving temperature: between 16 and 18 °C.

Bottle: 75cl.

Tasting Note:

In Roda I, deep black fruit is present, almost always dominated by plum, accompanied by mineral notes, chocolate, and balsamic sensations. On the palate, the volume is evident, the fruit complexity, noticing the abundant and molten tannins. The wine lengthens, marking the memory retronasally each time it is breathed. A sensation of fruit and freshness lingers that invites you to continue drinking it. It combines perfectly with roasts, cured cheeses, red meats, game dishes.
