Rejón is the name of the best Tempranillo vineyard on the Bodegas Tritón estate, located in the town of El Pego, within the Toro region. Its grape, of low production, shows the typicity and essence of a native grape that reflects the terroir from which it comes like few others. Hand-picked in small 15-kilo boxes, it has been produced in very small tanks. The end of the alcoholic fermentation and the malolactic fermentation have been carried out in 225-litre French oak barrels and remained in them for 20 months.
Grape: 100% Tempranillo.
Alcoholic degree: 15.5% Vol.
Service temperature: between 15 °C.
With a very covered garnet cherry color, it is very intense and complex on the nose, with very ripe black fruits (blackberries, plums) and mineral tones. It offers us an unctuous, powerful and resounding mouthfeel, with structure and meaty, but at the same time balanced, with sweet, round and ample tannins. Very elegant and tasty, sweet and with a long finish, Rejón is a wine that transmits, through the old vineyard from which it comes, the elegance, serenity and complexity of a great wine. This wine is ideal to accompany powerful stews, rice dishes with game meat, grilled red meat, roast lamb, pork and beef. Large game, spicy cured meats and highly cured cheeses.
