Marqués de Riscal Barón de Chirel White 2014

Very old vines over 100 years old, ungrafted, pre-phylloxera, from the areas of Aldeanueva del Codonal and Aldehuela, cultivated in goblet.

Verdejo from Segovia is different from Rueda due to the acid and granitic nature of the soils. Upon arrival at the winery, it passes through a double selection table for bunches and whole grapes. Only the flower must is used for this wine, since it has a not very high turbidity and is of great quality.

A contribution of quality wood is sought (Austrian Stockinger oak foudres that give the wine greater packaging, more depth, but that eminently respects the character and is aged on lees for 8 months.

Tasting note:

Marqués de Riscal Barón de Chirel Blanco is a wine with an intense and very complex nose, it has a dense, long and tasty mouthfeel. Its natural acidity, thanks to the altitude of the estates (some at 900 meters), ensures a good evolution in the bottle.
