Horcajo is the newest wine from Bodegas Cepa 21 but it is already one of the best in the Ribera del Duero for its elegance and complexity, already being an icon and an example of the unique Terroir of the winery elevated to its maximum expression . The cool temperatures at the beginning of spring and the abundant rains slightly delayed bud break in the vineyard. The summer had slightly higher than normal temperatures, with the month of September being particularly dry. Accumulated soil water reserves were sufficient to maintain optimal plant performance. As a result, it was a year of abundant, balanced and highly ripe harvest. 

Horcajo is made only with grapes from the plot also called Horcajo. This Tempranillo red is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks with a 26-day maceration, always in contact with the skins themselves. Finally, the aging takes place in French oak barrels.

Tasting note:

Horcajo is presented with an intense cherry red color with ruby ​​hues. On the nose it is an expressive wine, with a complex combination of ripe red and black grape fruits and the aromas typical of aging in French oak barrels. In the mouth it is long and powerful, structured and with sweet tannins and a long enveloping aftertaste.
