Macallan Folio 6.

The Macallan Folio 6 is the sixth release in the Speyside distillery's Archival Series, celebrating the Scottish brand's early advertising campaigns. First published in 2015, the Archival Series commemorates The Macallan's print, print and film advertising campaigns of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

The new release highlights a Macallan campaign from 1984, telling the story of Allan Shiach, the brand's president at the time. In it he is represented dancing a dance of swords over a crossed brush and pen.

“Created to pay homage to the humorous 1980s advert for the president dancing with swords, Folio 6 is a captivating single malt that truly reflects the iconic status of the artwork it celebrates,” said The Macallan whiskey maker, Polly Logan.

He added: “Autumn chestnut in colour, The Macallan Archival Series Folio 6 features seasonal aromas of orange and ginger, followed by poached pear and vanilla with festive hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh oak and chocolate. On the palate, oranges and sultanas dance with ginger and smooth milk chocolate. The finish brings a crescendo of ginger warmth that makes it the perfect drink to enjoy whether dancing in the ceilidh or sitting by the fireplace.
