CVNE Imperial Reserva

It has been made in Spain since 1920, but only when exceptional vintages are produced in Rioja. The grapes come from 28 hectares of own vineyards located in Villalba (Rioja Alta), and from selected vineyards in the Briones and Montalvo areas, where the vines have an average age of more than 20 years, to ensure the quality of the wine. The Imperial winery is an autonomous winery within the original CVNE winery. The elaboration of the wine is done under a rigorous quality control, and in the most traditional way. The cellar is made up of French oak vats of different capacities. This allows the production of each plot of vineyards to be collected and individual monitoring of each terroir. Barrel aging takes place inside the Eiffel ship, built in 1909.

Tasting Note:

CVNE Imperial Reserva presents an intense cherry-colored layer with beautiful purple reflections. Attractive aroma of berries, violets and licorice with hints of the Atlantic forest where notes of cloves and cigar leaves also appear. On the palate its softness and finesse draws our attention. Along the way we appreciate meatiness and volume, all in perfect balance with a silky tannin that leads us to a long, balsamic aftertaste where the aromas intermingle. Pairs perfectly with fatty fish, game, red meat and cured cheeses.
