Roda Cirsion

Bodegas Roda is located on the banks of the Ebro River, on a balcony in the Barrio de La Estación de Haro (La Rioja), on a 19th century openwork. Winegrowers used it to store their crops, which were later sent to Bordeaux by rail to mitigate the damage caused by phylloxera. There, Agustín de Santolaya has been carrying out his activity as director for years, responsible for the wines that came to stay at the beginning of the new century.

Cirsion is a state-of-the-art Rioja produced by Bodegas Roda, a great wine made with grapes from privileged vineyards. But, especially, a wine that constitutes a whole project for the winery, who make this wine in a special way, carefully selecting those clusters that have already been "bred" naturally on the same vine. With this 8-month process in new French oak barrels, they achieve a particularly silky wine without its passage through the wood stealing its fruitiness. A magnificent wine, complete both in fruitiness and freshness, a mineral, balsamic, voluminous, powerful, silky and persistent wine.

tasting note

It is a wine with a very high layer, with intense burgundy colours.

It has a very intense, complex nose, where we find notes of smoke, humid earth, small, black and red fruits, menthol, cocoa. On the palate it is powerful, meaty, delicate, with very fine tannins, with an aftertaste of licorice, chocolate, mint, with a very long finish. The contribution of Graciano is evident, but it is perfectly integrated under the Tempranillo.
