Chateau Angelus

the vineyard of Château Angélus is located in the heart of a natural amphitheatre, dominated by the three churches of Saint-Emilion.
The Angelus prayer has its origins in the 15th century: Pope Callistus III, after the victorious battle of the Holy Roman Empire over the Ottoman army on July 21, 1456, ordered as a sign of gratitude that all the bells of Christendom be tolled. every day in the morning, at noon and at night. This prayer took the name of the Angelus. The bell that appears on the Château Angélus bottle symbolizes this story and this moment of prayer. In 1954, during the first classification of Saint-Emilion, Château Angélus gained the rank of Grand Cru Classé, which will help it overcome the Bordeaux wine crisis of 1973 and tackle the oenological renewal of the 1980s. In this same vintage of 2012 and with a beautiful black bottle engraved in gold, celebrates its classification as Grand Cru Classe "A"
