The distillery in charge of producing Glenkinchie 10 years, was founded by the brothers John and George Rate in 1825 with the name of Milton, in 1837 it was renamed Glenkinchie. Located to the south of Pencaitland, it uses the waters of Lammermuir and is known as the Edinburgh malt, since it is located less than 20 kilometers from the city. Currently, it is one of the few distilleries located in the Lowlands and is owned by Diageo and much of the production of the distillery goes to the production of blendeds of the conglomerate. The distillery's single malts share a smooth character, with a light and creamy body, with floral and herbaceous notes, fruits such as walnuts and almonds, and honey.

Tasting note:

The nose is light and fragrant with herbaceous, cereal and almond notes. On the palate soft and fresh, floral with the characteristic sweetness of malt accompanied by oak. The finish is of medium duration, highlighting cereals and a green freshness.
