Tanqueray Malacca

Tanqueray Malacca Gin is based on a recipe developed by Charles Waugh Tanqueray dating back to 1839. He was known to travel extensively in search of exotic spices to include in his gins and created a spicy spirit inspired by his expedition off the southwest coast of Malay. The gin became a cult product, but was sadly discontinued in 2001. In response to demand, Tanqueray relaunched the gin in 2013, with a limited production run of 100,000 bottles.

Alcoholic degree: 40% Vol.

Bottle: 1 L.

Tasting note

On the nose, first of all, citrus fruits are appreciated. Without much juniper. Tanqueray Malacca's flavor is robust and smooth. Citrus is appreciated again at the beginning, followed by a slightly acid taste: lemon and grapefruit. Cinnamon in the middle, to reach a finish, a long creamy finish with notes of custard anglaise, especially warm vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
