Golden baked cookies, thin and crispy with a touch of cheese. Did you know that the original form of Carr's Table Water, the brand's flagship biscuit, first appeared at the end of the 19th century as an improvement on biscuits to take on ships. Using water instead of fat to mix dry ingredients helps keep biscuits fresh on long voyages, which is why Carr's biscuits have this fine, crunchy texture that was very popular with sailors. Word quickly spread to all ports, and inevitably, by 1908, the biscuits were also being offered to landlubbers in the form of Carr's Table Water. The proud tradition established by Jonathan Dodgson Carr is still baked today.
