Oban

Oban Distillery was built in 1794 by the Stevenson family in Oban Bay, being the westernmost distillery.

After many closures and renovations, it resumed production in 1997, with a major renovation to its facilities. The distillery consists of a small still for the first distillation, the resulting product has 25% alcohol and a still for a second distillation and in this case, the product comes out with an alcohol percentage of 72%, heating the stills by steam .

For aging, only ex-sherry barrels are used. The water for making malt comes from Loch Gleann a'Bhearraid.

Alcoholic degree: 45.8% Vol.

Tasting note

Oban 14 is an exceptional combination of intense sweetness and smoky dryness, offering notes of orange, pear and dried figs, accompanied by hints of sea salt and peat smoke.
