The Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask

Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey has matured in traditional oak whiskey barrels for 14 years, then "finished" in barrels that previously held Caribbean rum. To create the ideal finish, malt master David C. Stewart filled American oak barrels with his own blend of select West Indian rums. When he judged the barrels to be ready, the rum was replaced with the 14-year-old spirit and the wood went to work adding the finishing touches.

Tasting note

With an amber color typical of a rum, this whiskey offers aromas of toffee, caramel, coffee, chocolate and cream. On the palate it is rounded off with notes of vanilla and sweet oak, with a fruity character that develops over time, with a soft and persistent finish.
